Since we don't know a lot about Waka, let's do some suggestions!

*Waka is terrified of the ocean, an instinct-deep fear caused by the circumstances which led to his and Vita's adoption into the Lowlands.
**This fear drives him eventually to split away from the Lowlands pride and go further inland, where he meets Nurisha.
*Waka dearly loves his sister, and does everything he can to protect her. He senses that King Wahamu will eventually turn a lecherous eye to her, if not to make her one of his harem, then simply to 'test her out.' He spreads nasty rumors to the king's inner circle that Vita is in fact 'ill-equipped' for breeding, that she has an illness spread by breeding that she conceals by consuming herbs, and that she believes that castrating a lion and eating his 'jewels' will heal her. Twisted as he is, Wahamu decides NOT to spread these rumors around, hoping to cause as much harm as he possibly can while he sits back and laughs.
**He doesn't spread these rumors to harm her, and only tells these fabrications to lionesses he knows won't speak to her directly, or anyone that associates themselves with her. So, while Vita DOES hear rumors that Wahamu has no interest in her whatsoever, she never learns who spread lies about her.
*Waka is deeply suspicious of Ahadi and his brother, and warns his sister to avoid the older sibling, to no avail.
*When eventually forced to leave the Lowlands, Waka is all too glad to do so, wanting to find his own way in the world. He offers for Vita to accompany him, knowing the answer before she gives it. But he cannot live with himself if he hadn't tried.
*Unlike some rogues, Waka doesn't treat any lionesses (or other rogues) he comes across with hostility. Eventually he comes to the sort of 'peaceful hub' for rogues of all genders, the Thorn Lands, and that is where he meets his mate, Nurisha. It is to her his heart belongs, and it is with her and only her that he bears a single cub with.

yes, i think so. i recalled later that i wanted his mane to be white, but i forgot to say so to thee. i can always do that, or just make his tail tuft white later on. NO NEED FOR YOU TO CHANGE NUTHIN'.
